EVALUATE

EQUIPMENT EVALUATION

Are you in the market for a new set of clubs or are you thinking of ways to alter the clubs you already have?  Are you wondering if it's the right time to get a club fitting?  Our equipment evaluation session is your opportunity to get an education in golf equipment and get honest answers to any questions you might have.

WARNING: OUR EQUIPMENT EVALUATION IS NOT A CLUB FITTING.

We will not have you hit a hundred different head and shaft combinations until we come to a conclusion about which combination is right for you.  If that service interests you there are plenty of providers that can deliver.  We don't sell equipment.  We believe there is a VOID in the equipment service space that we hope to fill with honest, unbiased, straightforward guidance.

TOPICS OF DISCUSSION

THE GRIP

THE CLUBHEAD

THE SHAFT

It seems simple but it's not as simple as it appears.  Many of our students play with grips that don't fit.  Why is a grip that fits so important to playing your best golf?  What are the different size options?  What are the different materials and how do they feel?  What is the process of re-gripping?  Can the average person re-grip a set of clubs at home?  Should I use a heavy grip or a light grip?

THE SHAFT

THE CLUBHEAD

THE SHAFT

There are so many shaft options.  What makes a shaft the perfect shaft?  What kind of shaft do the pros play?  Should I use a $500 shaft in my driver?  What is shaft spine?  What is shaft flex?  What is uni-flex?  What is kick-point?  Why is the weight of the shaft important and what weight is right for me? What is standard length?  Why is the standard length driver 46"?  Why is a standard length putter 35"?

THE CLUBHEAD

THE CLUBHEAD

THE CLUBHEAD

What is a blade?  Why are they considered more difficult to hit?  What makes other designs easier to hit?  Why do irons today feel more like woods or hybrids?  What is trampoline effect?  Is a bigger clubhead always better?  What is a mini driver?   What is lie angle and how does it affect ball flight?  What club will be easier to hit?  What are grooves?  What are standard lofts?  What is a hybrid?

THE BALL

THE GLOVE

THE CLUBHEAD

What is compression?  What's inside a golf ball?  What happens to the ball when the club hits it?  Is the PRO V1 the best ball on the market?  Why are driving ranges obsessed with providing ball data?  Don't balls deteriorate after being used?  Can I use refurbished balls?

THE GLOVE

THE GLOVE

THE GLOVE

Believe it or not the golf glove is the simplest piece of equipment and you would think it's also the easiest to buy on your own but most people buy the wrong size.  The size matters because if your hand is swimming in the glove your connection to the club will not be a good one.

THE SHOE

THE GLOVE

THE GLOVE

The golf shoe is your hitting platform.  You're alowed to wear shoes that you like.  Spiked or spikeless?  waterproof or water resistant?  Laces or no laces?  Structure or no structure?  Insoles or no insoles?  Can a square toe box fix my golf game?

ACCESSORIES

AFTER YOUR SESSION

SHOP CONFIDENTLY

Our hope is that with a new understanding of what a golfer needs you will be able to cut through the confusion and get into the right set of clubs and accessories no matter your budget.  We can guide you and help you make decisions but we don't currently sell equipment or do any equipment modifications.

Equipment is always changing and the industry wants you to believe the latest clubs are the best clubs ever made.  The industry wants you think 10 more yards is worth any expense.
